Do Animals Communicate Using Telepathy?
Does it mean we believe in telepathy and that it exists, when we say an individual is 'telepathic?' Not many people think so.The idea is considered science fiction or mysticism and it's dismissed. Even though everyday we live with cell phones, computers and this through the use of invisible air waves which retrieve the information we need. Hundreds of jets (controlled by computers) take off and land everyday world wide.
Is has been said that a sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. The human race has used science and technology to learn things about the natural world we never knew. We've done things that were considered impossible flights of fancy jut a hundred years ago. We've had men walk on the bottoms of the oceans and on the surface of the moon (and we did it with technology that, by today's standards, seems primitive). We can gather energy from the sun, the wind, and the water. And anyone can have a small device in their pocket that allows them to talk to anyone anywhere in the world. But this isn't magic, its science… right?
To the people living a century ago, all these things would have been considered impossible. But we know that they do exist. This begs the question: Is it not possible that telepathic people are merely operating in a way that science does not yet understand? But by much telepathy is still viewed as nothing more than magic.
Investigation, by scientists, of people who are telepathic, is called parapsychology or paraphysics. Even those who investigate this use scientific methods and experiments to get answers to questions on telepathy regardless of what the answer may be or whether it's the answer they are looking for.
In order for the existence of telepathy to be considered a fact by science the results of their studies must show that it is measurable, consistent and repeatable. Because the studies into telepathy have produced inconsistent and unrepeatable results some then insist that it cannot be either substantiated or proven to exist. Others respond that perhaps the scientists just haven't yet devised the proper kinds of tests. After-all, telepathic people do exist even though we do not understand how.
Science has not disproven the existence of telepathic people. But is it possible to communicate without using any of our five senses? Just by thought alone? The answer is somewhat of an obvious one. We would have to use a means that we cannot employ our senses to detect but the means exists nonetheless. Science and technology have already done it in the high tech way. Consider radio waves. True, we cannot see them, touch them, taste, hear or smell them, but we all know that they most certainly do exist.
..Or, is it? One thing that science does know and acknowledge is that there are electromagnetic waves generated by the brain called 'thought waves'. And researchers who have not dismissed telepathy say that this is the key insight that is needed to understand it.
Scientifically, human thought is just a biochemical process of neurons being transferred between different synapses in the brain. However, this transfer of neurons creates an electrical current—tiny, sure, but measurable. This electrical current also generates a tiny magnetic field. Keep in mind the brain has tens of thousands of synapses firing at any one time.
Can this bio-electric and bio-magnetic field be used by humans to communicate mind-to-mind? Do these electrical and magnetic waves carry content, or just the brain equivalent of meaningless static? Can people use mental training to control these brain waves? Can techniques like meditation or controlled thought be used to shape these brain waves into meaningful communication?
The electrical and magnetic fields produced by our brains are small and can be easily drowned out by the electro magnetic fields produced by all our stereos, televisions, microwaves, computers, fridges, etc that surround us.
However, science has discovered that during times when we are afraid, in pain, feeling threatened or in shock the brain produces a spike in bio-electrical and bio-magnetic brain waves. This spike occurs during a heightened emotional state, because our synapses are firing more neurons between them at the same time.
Brief occurrences of telepathy have been documented in cases where a mother knows that her child is in distress even though they are apart from each other. During the heightened emotional state of the mother her synapses are firing more neurons simultaneously. It would certainly seem that a link exists between the spike in the bio-electrical and bio-magnetic waves and the occurrences of telepathy.
While mainstream science remains doubtful about telepathy because of the lack of consistent experimental results, this is a slowly changing attitude. As more research gets conducted, more researchers are convinced that telepathy must be real-and we just need to get the experiments right to understand it and be able to allow everyone to be trained one level or another as a telepath.
